J. Lauritzen celebrates
10 successful years in Shanghai
Last week, J. Lauritzen Shanghai celebrated its 10th Anniversary. The event was marked with a festive reception at the Shanghai Fairmont Peace Hotel and was well-attended with more than 100 guests from the maritime industry and joined by CEO Mads Peter Zacho, along with Peter Borup, President of Lauritzen Bulkers and Thomas Wøidemann, President of Lauritzen Kosan.
The Shanghai office was established in 2006 to serve Lauritzen Kosan’s traditional gas and petrochemical clients who had set up substantial industrial and commercial operations in China in the late 1990s. In 2008 the office took on an increased strategic significance for all of J. Lauritzen and over the years, the office has built a strong base and enjoyed excellent cooperation with local authorities, clients and partners.
Today, the Shanghai office is headed by General Manager, Lin Siau Tay and currently employs 7 people.
Lin Siau Tay opened the reception and invited Mads Peter Zacho to deliver the welcome speech. He stressed the importance of maintaining strong relations to J. Lauritzen’s Chinese business partners and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continue its good services to them.
The reception provided ample opportunity for representatives from J. Lauritzen's offices in Shanghai, Singapore and Copenhagen to connect with its Chinese business partners. After the reception Mads Peter Zacho commented: “I was delighted to meet so many of J. Lauritzen’s Chinese counterparts and the great turnout and the impressive support received at the reception confirms our strong brand name in China”.
